Church News: IHN wants to speak at your congregation
Board members,
staff, and family members of IHN are available to speak at area churches,
congregations, civic
clubs, and businesses about the network. Congregations can learn more about
IHN and how they can become involved in the Network. As most of you know,
we are always looking for new
congregations to get involved, either as a support
congregation, a host
congregation, or a companion
congregation. If you feel that your
congregation
would like to know more about IHN, please contact the office at
929-9967.

The
need is still with us!
Homelessness touches virtually every city and town in our
country today. Hundreds of thousands of American children and adults are
homeless, and families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless
population. Throughout most of the past year, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Johnson City has
operated at capacity, with many other families on a waiting list. I.H.N. is a
community response to homeless families. It is a ministry and network of area
churches and existing community agencies that provide families the means to
recovery from homeless situations by offering them the tools needed to return to
permanent housing and self-sufficiency. The Network promotes spiritual growth
unequaled in any other program, while fostering congregational unity and
interfaith cooperation. What an affirmation it is to have our faith community of
churches open their doors and say to these parents with children, “We care about
you and have a place for you.”
